Do you have accounting/bookkeeping experience and a passion for the academic/non-profit world? This long-term contract role could be just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for—a foot in the door with one of the region’s top employers! The position is part-time (30 hours per week) and is expected to go through the end of 2018, giving you lots of time to showcase the value that you bring to the table.

What makes this role so unique? Several things, actually. Your responsibilities will include daily transaction accounting as well as playing a key role in the month-end closing. But in addition, you will actively participate in grant analysis and reporting, and you will regularly have a hand in international transactions and exchange rates. This is a chance to use some of those skills that perhaps you haven’t been able to fully explore in your previous experience.

And that’s not all! Other responsibilities include:

  • Track and manage fixed assets
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Process and ensure compliance with vendor and partner contracts
  • Drive annual audit process with outside auditors and resolve audit concerns
  • Ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned
  • Accounting or General Business degree/certificate
  • 5+ years of general accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in daily accounting use of Excel; PeopleSoft experience a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working with international currencies is a plus

Tiffany came on board with Johnson & Hill in 2016 but began her recruiting career with a Boston firm in 2005. For Tiffany, her favorite part of this industry is its unpredictable nature; she loves that she has no idea what to expect from one day to the next, so it really keeps her on her toes! As the director of the Accounting & Finance Division, Tiffany specializes in a wide range of accounting roles. Having worked for a CPA firm, she brings a great deal of expertise when working with our accounting and finance clients. In addition, Tiffany also heads the Direct Hire portion of our business.
